Progress, Progress, Progress

Updated: Jul 2

So recently my candle making space got moved to our hallway in my home. Which isn’t a bad spot, it’s just awkward. However, it allows me to close the door to the living room so the window air conditioner (because I live in a 100 ish year old house with no A/C unit) doesn’t cool down my candles too quickly as to mess them up. It’s all a learning experience really.

I recently found a new seller for amber glass jars. They say they’re 9 oz, with a wax fill weight of 7 oz. I bought 24 of them to try, and realized they’re almost identical to the ones I got off Amazon. However, I had only been filling the ones off Amazon (that said they were 8 oz jars) to 6.5 oz. I did some math and found that the 9 oz jars were actually about $0.50 cheaper than the ones off Amazon, even though I had to buy lids for the 9 oz jars whereas the ones on Amazon came with lids.

Now my struggle is finding fall and Christmas themed vessels. Fall is easy, there’s many pumpkin vessels out there, it’s just a matter of what is cheapest but also good quality. Christmas I’d have to probably go with dough bowls, which are wooden, and wood is flammable. They make flame retardant spray but I’m not so sure how well I trust it. I know some store sell dough bowls, but I’m almost afraid to try it.

I have been thinking about trying to do wax melts again. My only problem is I can’t use the Coconut Apricot Wax that I’ve been using because it’s way too soft a wax to use. I was given some Freedom Soy wax so I may try that and see how that works. But I want to make sure what I make has a good scent throw to it. So I’ll have to do some tests, but we may get a new product soon!!!!

As always, thank you for reading and checking out my website! I appreciate all the looks!!! Enjoy my quick little video!

Here is a video of my setup and a few of the candles I have made
